Jodie Foster didn't let an injury stop her from presenting at the 90th Academy Awards from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The 55-year-old actress-director emerged on crutches to co-present the honors for Best Actress alongside fellow A-list actress Jennifer Lawrence, and had a topical comeback when Lawrence asked her about the crutches, referencing colleague Meryl Streep.
'Streep - she I, Tonya-ed me,' said Foster, in reference to the lauded feature film documenting Tonya Harding's 1994 plot to cripple her figure skating rival Nancy Kerrigan.

Trooper: Jodie Foster didn't let an injury stop her from the 90th Academy Awards from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, as she was a co-presenter with Jennifer Lawrence
Lawrence was in on the joke, chiming in, 'No, it's cool - you know, she tripped me once!,' before remarking that Streep 'was always nice at the luncheons.'
Foster responded, 'Eh, she’s acting.'
Foster was actually injured weeks back when she fell while skiing, a spokesperson for the star told People. Foster wore a white blazer with black pants and shoes all by Ralph Lauren Collection to the event, with her hair down and parted; while J-Law was clad in a resplendent glittering shoulder-less golden gown with her locks curled and parted.
Foster, a double Oscar-winner for her roles in 1991's The Silence of the Lambs and 1988's The Accused - and Lawrence, who won Best Actress for her role in 2012's Silver Linings Playbook - were substitute presenters for last year's Best Actor winner Casey Affleck.

Upon his withdrawal from his presenting duties, the Academy said in a statement, 'We appreciate the decision to keep the focus on the show and on the great work of this year.'
